Ms. Morris was a graduate of West Virginia University with
a bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design. Since
Nov. 1, 1983, she worked as publications
coordinator and graphic designer for Offinger Management Co., Zanesville, Ohio, preparing promotional literature and
association newsletters for several national and
international trade associations. Her job took her on
location to various trade show destinations around the
country. She was an avid writer, reader, movie buff,
computer designer, and enjoyed horses and other animals.
She was also a Web mailing list administrator for
the JMDG-L, an Internet mailing list devoted to the
discussion of the work of actor/writer/producer James
Morrison.
In addition to a wide circle of local friends, she
established internet friendships across the country whom
she also visited in person. She was a member of the
Cambridge Writers Workshop and won prizes for her short
stories and poetry. She supported local organizations,
often providing her graphic art and desktop publishing
skills, including the Zanesville Habitat for Humanity
and the Brighton Historic Association.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Bill
Morris, who died in 1995; and her paternal grandmother,
Bernice Keyser.
Survivors include her mother, Alice June Chambers Morris of
Beckley; brothers Kevin and his wife, Sarah, and their two
children, Jacob and Jessica Morris of Beckley, and Scott
Morris of Beckley; her maternal grandmother, Lillian
Chambers of Beckley; an aunt, Mildred Mid Chambers of
Beckley.
