Harold MertensHal brightened many lives by his presence. He touched not only those whom he knew during his life, but also those who have come to know him in death. His ashes have been shared with those that love him most, a lifelong friend/business partner, Scott, and his sister, Diane. No one has ever loved another more than these two love Hal.

From his memorial: “...and when he shall die, take him and cut him out in little stars, and he will make the face of heaven so fine that all the world will be in love with the night and pay no worship to the garish sun.”

From his obituary: Hal’s last wish was that all who were touched by his life Commit Random Acts Of Kindness, in his memory.

Thank you Hal for existing in this harsh world as a light being. You have touched so many lives. You will live in death as you did in life—exuberantly and with passion.

You are missed.

God’s finger touched him, and he slept. — Lord Alfred Tennyson
